From the Editor



I have a book in front of me, a mass-market paperback that arrived in the mail in 1992. The title page is signed by Charles Hamm. But he was not the author. I'd taken part in a Sonneck Society panel discussion he'd organized for a conference session called "Biography and Difference." At the end of the session he said he wanted to send each of us a book: Orson Scott Card's Speaker for the Dead.
